Policy on Credentialing and Privileging of Practitioners

All individuals engaged in the practice of Prosthetics and/or Orthotics (Direct care and contact with patients) in this office must hold Board Certification as a prerequisite to employment as a practitioner. Any person with "Board Eligible” qualifications will be considered on an individual basis.

All practitioners involved in the delivery of services are expected to practice only within his or her "scope of practice". (See: Report of the Task Force On the Scope of Practice in Prosthetics and Orthotics, American Board for Certification, October 1996)

Clinical Prosthetics & Orthotics, LLC, has adopted standards by which individual practitioners are engaged in the care of patients referred to this office. These standards establish relationships between orthotic and prosthetic caregivers and begin to create a hierarchical structure whereby clinical supervision is made.

Professional staff (Practitioner, Associate) appointments are made by Clinical Prosthetics & Orthotics, LLC. The Clinical Director will, at date of hire, award Privileges to professional staff, determining then the specific services he/she may deliver and the appropriate level of supervision provided. Subject to regular and routine evaluation by the Clinical Director privileges may be added and supervision decreased.
